The Wood County Genealogical Society is housed at the Quitman Public Library, 202 East Goode Street, Quitman, TX located one block east of the Wood County Courthouse in downtown Quitman.
The society was organized in 1983, to provide a meeting ground for folks looking for ancestors. Members of the Society are interested in helping others to find “roots” in Wood County, Texas. Volunteer members are available at the library or by appointment (903-763-4191) to aid researchers with their family history.
